An Introductory Post

Hi, my name is Bethan and welcome to my Dreamwidth! Here you will find mostly me writing about mental health, mindfulness and gratitude, books I have been reading and video games I am playing.

I enjoy chick-lit and historical fiction, as well as non-fiction books about history and auto/biographies and memoirs.
The games I mostly play are Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley & Story Of Seasons.
I also enjoy memory planning, junk journalling and scrapbooking. I enjoy jigsaws and word puzzles. I enjoy swimming and love watching gymnastics and swimming. I am an enthusiastic beginner cook who loves one pot recipes, and I am trying to teach myself to cross-stitch albeit not very successfully!

A lot of people think I am boring because of these interests, and because I do not watch TV (other than gymnastics/swimming but I mostly watch those online now) but I would honestly rather be playing a game, doing a puzzle, or reading a book. I enjoy them.

Animal Crossing charmed me at first release, is New Horizons adding new characters, or scenarios or ... ?

Sometimes not watching TV when everyone else does is a little isolating when you do not understand what everyone is talking about - but not enough that I want to watch the things.

I have only been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons for about 3 or 4 months, and it's my first Animal Crossing game so I do not really know about new things in it.

I am familiar with scrapbooking and junk journaling (I do both), but what is memory planning?

Oooh! I watched some videos on junk journaling before, to the point I almost wanted to give it a go -- I saved a pretty piece of cardboard for it. I would love to see how you do it!

Oooh, what are some of your favourite memoirs? I'm on a Ruth Reichl kick at the moment, she's a food writer and I've just gotten Save Me the Plums from the library.

I also adore being in the water, swimming and aqua aerobics and just splashing around *g*
